It will be the seventh match for MI in this IPL 2021. They have currently earned 6 points after playing their first six matches of this season. While they managed to beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat them.

In their last game, South African cricketer Quinton de Kock played the match-winning knock of 70 not out off 50 balls that helped his team to beat Rajasthan Royals and De Kock won the Player of the Match award. The left-handed batsman also scored 40 runs against SRH.
